Carpenter Scout Badge Khaki Woven War Time
The Carpenter Badge was worn on the Right arm in between the shoulder and elbow.
To earn this badge a scout must do the following*
(1) Drive in screws up to 1 inch without damage to wood or screws.
(2) Nail on a packing case lid correctly, using 1-inch wood and 1-inch nails.
(3) Divide lengthways with an ordinary saw a 1-inch board, 2 feet long, the cut not to deviate iron the line more than 1/16th of an inch.
(4) Sharpen a chisel and plane-iron, make housing, tenon and mortise, and halved joint.
(5) Either dove-tail two pieces of wood together with not less than five dove-tails, or make a properly framed stool, chair, or other piece of framed furniture.
(6) Distinguish woods in local use and know the nature and common uses of each.
